Full of performers cosplaying as thieving pirates, enchanting fairies, and courageous heroes, the Ren Faire has always been a place where anyone can be anything they want to be. It's a place for dreaming, and that includes Kaya and her dad's dream of Kaya someday being named the first Black Queen of the Faire. Then Kaya's dad gets sick and passes away. Kaya's devastated, but she refuses to let his dream die with him. She enrolls at the Faire's summer camp, determined to become the camp's junior Queen. But when the role is given to the pretty and blue-eyed Jessie, the only spot left for Kaya is the juggling Court Jester--not exactly regal!
