Poetry for Kids

Poetry can describe a feeling, a thing, a moment, a place, a person or group. It can be a rallying cry or a celebratory anthem. It can ask questions and it can offer answers. It can tell a story, from truth, fiction or a blend of both. Poetry can be short, it can be long or somewhere in the middle. It can rhyme, it can be free verse. It can be funny, it can be serious. It can be found in picture books as well as novels. Check out this selection of some of our favorites from our children's collection.
