The Readability Book Group
The Readability Book Group is a group especially for adults with disabilities. It was founded in 2017 in partnership with Center for Independent Futures. We meet weekly on Mondays via Zoom. Readability is a unique book group in that instead of everyone reading the book alone and then meeting to discuss, participants have the book read aloud to them! While our facilitator reads, participants are encouraged to stop them and ask questions. We want to make sure that if anything is unclear, or if we need the definition of any words, we stop and talk about it so that everyone can understand and enjoy the story. We read a wide array of books-- anything that has an engaging plot! Check out our chronology of titles, and if you or anyone else in your life might want to join us, please email Jeny Mills (jmills@cityofevanston.org) for more information!
