Building a Circle of Care: Free Home Care and Adult Day Service Options

Description

Join Peter DeSouza from the Japanese American Service Committee as he talks about The Community Care Program (CCP).  Through  the IDoA, it  provides free or low-cost services to
eligible older adults to help them live safely and independently at home. Services include:
 Homemaker Services: Help with meals, laundry, errands, and housekeeping
 Adult Day Services: Supervised daytime care and social activities outside the home
 Emergency Home Response Systems (EHRS)

To qualify, an individual must:
 Be 60 years of age or older
 Be a U.S. citizen or legal resident
 Live in Illinois
 Have non-exempt assets of $17,500 or less
(Does not include their primary home, car, or burial plans)
 Have a demonstrated need for help with activities of daily living
(Determined by a required in-home assessment scheduled through IDoA)
