Events › Register to Vote on National Voter Registration Day!

In celebration of National Voter Registration Day, the League of Women Voters of Evanston (LWVE) will be at the library to register voters and answer all your election questions. Have you moved since the last time you voted? If so, you need to re-register. Click here to check your status.

To register to vote, you must:

1. Be an American citizen

2. Be at least 18 years of age on or before November 3, 2026 (Gubernatorial Election). A 17-year-old who will be 18 on or before the November Election is eligible to vote in the Primary Election.

3. Bring two forms of ID, one of which must have your current address. Neither need be a picture ID. Acceptable forms of ID include:

• Illinois Driver's license
• Illinois State ID
• Employee or student ID
• Credit card
• Lease or rental contract
• Utility bill in the applicant's name
• Public Aid ID card
• Valid USA passport
